We need you!

You can help older adults living in our community to live independent, vibrant and healthy lives. Enjoy the many rewards of volunteering, including strengthening our community, the satisfaction of helping and connecting to others, and helping to create a resource that you too can benefit from some day.

SLIP believes that volunteers will continue to contribute their time and skills when they are fully engaged, feel appreciated and are doing things that are interesting and/or fun. SLIP depends exclusively on volunteers to adequately support the needs of seniors in the greater Saluda community.

Here are a few ways to become involved in our major initiatives:

Neighbor to Neighbor

Visit Neighbors in their home providing companionship to those feeling a bit lonely and isolated.

Transportation

Provide door-to-door transportation to those needing a ride to places like the grocery store, doctor’s appointments, pharmacy, bank and activities.

Senior Home Safety & Accessibility

Assist SLIP’s Home Safety and Inspector in determining what needs to be done and how to make a Neighbor’s home safer and more accessible.

Educational & Social Activities

Help create programs and activities of interest to older adults, welcome guests, prepare food and/or set up and take down tables and chairs.

Support SLIP with a Financial or In-Kind Gift.
